Immoral: not adhering to ethical or moral principles; base and unpatriotic motives; a base, degrading way of life.
Keeping with tradition is an issue of extreme importance to many people. In this day and age, acceptance and treatment of certain issues needs to be severely, improved upon. There is no room in modern America for discrimination and blind hatred. We, as a country, have been able to overcome such things as segregation and slavery, but are now held down by matters of love and happiness.
There is not a single person who does not know someone who has at least considered partaking in homosexual acts. With such a broad range of people, it is not possible to discern the difference between a homosexual person and a heterosexual person based on appearance. The type of clothing a person wears, or the manor in which they walk or talk, does not give anyone the right to call them such hurtful and discriminatory names such as faggot or dyke. The sexuality of a person should not make them a target for the mockery of the everyday society. Even if someone does not feel comfortable with the sexual preference of another, why must they be malicious and degrading to those people?
Marriage is the union between two people whom have fallen in love. Keeping two souls, which are destined, to be together from marriage based on the organs that reside on the body is outrageous! Pursuing happiness and love has been proven to be not only addictive, but also essential for the happiness of mankind. In essence, there are those who would take one of the major components of human existence and label it as immoral or repulsive. There is no universal set of morals. There will forever be opinions on what is right and what is wrong which will differ greatly. Thinking more logically is what needs to be done. Two men can be just as in love as a man and a woman. Keeping marriage moral is only able to go as far as the morals of the two whom are getting married.
Civil unions and other such substitutes are not enough for most homosexuals. They want their marriage to be just that, marriage. There is so much more to that word than just the act of the ceremony or the license, it is the fact that there is nothing keeping two people apart. The boundaries of civil unions and such have been crossed and abolished. Divorce is the only option for separation and that is an important step. Legally you are each other’s property. Not to mention the tax benefits, hospital privileges, and insurance policies, which would be able to be taken advantage of which are denied to those whom are not married. As this country is now, there is no recognition of gay or lesbian couples meaning if one was admitted to the hospital under critical care, their partner would have to wait in the waiting room or go home. And, if that partner died, the insurance money would go to whoever was on the will, not the life-partner h legally recognized couples.
In 1989 there was a survey taken of gay and lesbian youths and the results were shocking. 30% of all suicides between the ages of 15 and 24 were those of gay and lesbians. Keeping homophobia as an acceptable routine is no longer acceptable. This is not what we want to be teaching our children. The hatred of other human beings is not a family value. This nation’s children need to be taught that hatred, not love, is immoral. Change, in this context, is not to be feared, it is to be embraced. Acceptance of others and their lives is what will eventually help us all achieve a greater unity and peace of mind not only with ourselves but also with those around us.

" We want fun and you better believe it!
We want fun either take it, or leave it!
We want pie, want pie, want fun!
And We want to get wasted! "
